Wow, this had me intrigued and riled up at first!! I still believe that teaching is an honorable profession. As in any profession, there are bad apples in any group. I love my job and the kids, so I’m in it for the long run! Obviously, the one gal had a poor public school experience. However, I hooe it is much more rare than she suggests!

A few years ago I had a math class conduct this very exercise and they were surprised. The best part is the epiphany that their math is correct.
Thank goodness the majority of teachers are not in the profession to make money but to help build better people.
Thanks for sharing.

Wow, was I shocked at first. Thankfully I do not work for money, or for someone else’s opinion. Knowing that I can be there for kids and encourage them to search within themselves, is why I chose this profession. Money of course makes things easier, yet it doesn’t make my decisions. Being appreciated by our parents would be a plus, I’m not sure it has to be monetarally. I am glad that in our profession we know the “real” reason to be a teacher. It’s for the KIDS!
